LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A Lima man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13.

Collin Wilson, 28, pleaded guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition in Allen County Common Pleas Court. As part of a plea deal, five other charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in the spring of 2025.

Wilson’s attorney told the court that his client had been a victim of assault when he was a child and expressed hope that Wilson would receive treatment during his prison sentence and after his release.

Judge Terri Kohlrieser acknowledged that history but focused on the long-term psychological harm Wilson caused to his young victim.

“And all those things in her brain are getting wired right now, and how she feels about the opposite sex, how she feels about sexuality, how she feels about her own body, all those things are completely warped when someone engages in inappropriate sexual activity with someone who's certainly not ready for it,” says Judge Terri Kohlrieser, Allen County Common Pleas Court.

Wilson was also classified as a Tier III sex offender, the highest classification under Ohio law, requiring lifetime registration.
