Lima Memorial's Exploring Program Introduces Students to Careers in Ear, Nose, and Throat

A good time for Lima Memorial Health System's "Exploring Program" where young people learn important life and health care career skills through experiences and mentorship continued over at the main campus.

Tonight's session focused on careers in ear, nose, and throat care, along with a variety of therapies.

"We are a small part in a team, and what we are trying to do is just educate these students in terms of the nature of the role that they would expect to play within these different specialties so that they are making better informed choices," added Dr. Fadi Abbass, ENT Surgeon.

"I'm just really interested in learning more on what consists of the medical field. I'm interested in nursing, not so much in physical therapy. I kind of know some about it because my parents are both physical therapists. I've been in and out of physical therapy my whole life so I'm excited to see what else I can learn," said Adelyn Tudor, a high school senior participant.

There are about 1.8 million new medical position openings in the U.S. each year from nurses to surgeons.
