Optimist Night at the Locos is coming on June 27, 2019, at Simmons Field. This year marks 100 years for the international club and the Lima Optimists are celebrating with a Locos baseball game. There will be games, trivia, and giveaways before and during the game. Tickets for adults are $4, and only $2 for kids and seniors. Those involved with little league or Abilities League get in free if they wear their jerseys.

"With the location of Simmons Field being so close to the Liam Safety City, here, we just thought it would be a great tie in," Cindy Nelson said, president of the Lima Noon Optimist Club. "Maybe people could come over, visit Safety City before the game and just come out here and support us."

The Lima Area Youth Concert will be playing the national anthem and an Abilities League player will throw out the first pitch.
