LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Public Library will host a celebration on July 18 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate 125 years in Lima since they opened to the public in 1901. Everyone attending will learn the history of the library and get a behind the scenes tour.
"I like to think that the library has been a great resource for Allen County over these 125 years. Our job and what we have offered has kind of shifted over the years from, like, just books to now different resources, you know, computers, board games, meeting rooms and stuff like that. But at the core we've still just been that resource for the Allen County community," said Lima Public Library Head of Public Relations Liz Smith.
In spite of recent renovations, the library continues to stay open and host community events.Â
