The Lima Rotary Club learned that the Lima Public Library is about more than just books.
A representative from the library spoke at Monday's meeting about all the different services and activities the library offers to the public for free. Many people don't know that a free library card can get them access to a variety of online resources for both adults and kids. It can be used to register for services like tutoring, checking out e-books, and even borrowing movies and TV shows digitally. In person, families can register for events like crafts and scavenger hunts to get kids excited to learn.

"They need all these things. Especially, it helps reinforce the things that they're learning in school. And then for their future, I mean, we need kids who know how to read and do mathematics and things like that because of the future, of the way technology is going," said Stephanie James, head of youth services.
Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith, a police officer, and a firefighter will be reading stories, telling kids about what they do, and showing off first responder vehicles.
