LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â Nothing gets you into the holiday mood like Christmas music.
The first half of the night was dedicated to songs from Christmas movies, such as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
Saturday night, the Lima Symphony Orchestra had their "Bells, Brass, and Bows" concert, which is an annual tradition. The first half of the night was dedicated to songs from Christmas movies, such as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The second half was a full performance of "The Nutcracker" with appearances from Lynn's Academy of Dance and Sarah Webb. A little bit for everyone with the goal of getting you to feel the holiday spirit.
"People just get so excited about it, and I hear constantly, 'I wasn't in the mood for the holidays until I came to this concert,' and I think that's true. It's such a pressured time of year. There's so much that has to happen. To be able to sit in quiet for 2 hours and have that beautiful music that you've grown up with. It's all so incredibly familiar. It just fills your soul; it's such a great way to feel like, 'Okay, I'm ready now. I can do this.' It's time for the holidays. It's time to celebrate," says Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, LSO Executive Director.
They only have a few weeks to prepare for their next event on New Year's Eve. Where they will be reliving some disco and Motown classics. That event is December 31st at 7:30 P.M.
