LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - The Lima YMCA honors a local man for the work he has done to help children. This is the 25th year that they have held the Herb Jay 5K along the Ottawa River Walk. This is the first race in the series that the Lima Y holds to promote wellness in the community, and they are encouraging people to lace up their shoes and commit to a healthy lifestyle.
“Yeah, it’s a really good way to come out and enjoy the company of other people. Get to know some new people; maybe find a new friend group just to have fun running and just exercising,” says Brady Killgallon, Sport, Health, and Wellness Director, Lima YMCA.
The Lima Y will be holding their 40th annual Kewpee Triathlon on Sunday, August 11th, at Ottawa Metro Park, and they will also be holding a run on September 11th to honor military, police officers, and firefighters. Go to the Lima Y’s Facebook page or website to get information on how to sign up.
