Fathers and daughters from around the Lima area got glammed up for a special night at the Lima YMCA.
The Y held their 11th annual Father Daughter Dance in their gymnasium Saturday evening. The duos were invited to hang out with some refreshments and to hit the dance floor with each other.
For Kennedy Simpson-Parks, 9, the best part of the night was getting some quality time with her father.
"It was a good opportunity for us to come out here because I don't get to spend that much time with my dad because he's a hard working father who spends a lot of time getting money for his children and making sure we have everything that we need," said Simpson-Parks.
Simpson-Parks' father, Dontez Parks, has taken her older sister to the dance before and felt it would be a good experience to share with his younger daughter as well.
"Me and my oldest daughter had a ball and so I wanted to share that with her," said Parks. "She wanted to go and like she said, I do work a lot but it's good for us to spend some time, you know, hang out."
YMCA members were asked to bring a peanut-free baked good to the dance and non-members were asked to bring a canned food item to donate to the West Ohio Food Bank.
