SIDNEY, Ohio (WLIO) — A man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation at a Sidney residence late Saturday night.

Police and paramedics were called to a duplex in the 400 block of Jefferson Street around 11:30 p.m., where they found a 42-year-old man bleeding from the neck. His name has not been released. According to Sidney police Lt. Ethan Brown, an altercation between two men inside the home became physical, and a knife was used to stab the victim.

The suspect remained at the scene and was detained for questioning. The victim was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy and later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was last listed in critical but stable condition. Investigators are working with the Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office to determine possible charges.
