ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Ohio's new 12th District state senator is ready to get to work.

Susan Manchester was sworn in as senator for Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Mercer, and Shelby counties, as well as part of Darke and Logan.

Manchester Sworn into the Ohio Senate

Senator Manchester now serves the 12th Senate District, which includes all of Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Mercer and Shelby counties, as well as portions of Darke and Logan counties.

She served three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, and she also served as the chair of the House Families, Aging, and Human Services Committee. In the Ohio House, she worked on legislation to help farmers, protect victims of human trafficking, and protect children.

January 7, 2025, press release from the Office of State Senator Susan Manchester: COLUMBUS—State Senator Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield) was sworn into her first term in the Ohio Senate. She joins the Ohio Senate after serving three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives.

"It's an honor to continue serving our region," said Manchester. "I am thankful that you put your trust in me, and I look forward to making your voice heard in the Ohio Statehouse."

Senator Manchester was first elected to the General Assembly in 2018. During her time in the House, Manchester chaired the House Families, Aging, and Human Services Committee. Through this role, she worked on legislation that focused on protecting Ohio's children. The senator also championed legislation to help farmers, protect victims of human trafficking, and support her community. 

Senator Manchester now serves the 12th Senate District, which includes all of Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Mercer and Shelby counties, as well as portions of Darke and Logan counties.
