It's a day that medical students look forward to.
Today(3/18/22) is National Match Day, where medical students get informed of which hospital they have matched to. At Mercy Health St. Rita's in Lima, a new class of young minds joins the hospital later this year.
"These medical students will now become physician residents when they join us in June for their orientation," said Stacy Schulte, a designated institutional official at Mercy Health - St. Rita's. "So between March and June we will have 26 new medical students looking for homes in the Lima community and we are super excited to give them a Lima nice welcome!"
The new class includes 12 internal medicine residents, six emergency medicine residents, six family medicine residents, and two podiatry medicine and surgery residents.
