Bridging the Gap provided some important health information for the public Saturday.
The organization put on a Minority Health and Wellness Expo, featuring different health screenings and information for the public about different resources available in the community. Bridging the Gap said that their target audience was the African-American Community, but they also opened the doors for anyone that might not have access to health care. This event provided the best way for people to get a lot of information in one location.
"Health related check ups is how you get into prevention of many diseases; heart cancer, cardiac, kidney disease, colon and rectal cancer, just all kinds of screenings, what's your blood sugar running, what's your blood pressure running, so this is a one stop shop for people to get some good information," said Cheryl Nagy, the facilitator for Bridging the Gap.
This is the third event that Bridging the Gap has put on this year.
