WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) — The nightcap of the Division VI district semifinals featured a rematch between the Spencerville Bearcats and the St. Henry Redskins.

Back in December, Spencerville handled St. Henry 64-50. This time around, it was a tale of two halves.

The Redskins came out red hot. Off a turnover, 6-foot-6 junior Tate Boeckman soared to the rim and threw it down, igniting a 16-5 start for St. Henry.

The defense continued to fuel the Redskins. Jack Huelsman came away with a steal and went coast-to-coast for two of his team-high 10 points. Despite the early surge, St. Henry’s lead was trimmed to four by halftime.

Spencerville began to claw its way back in the second half. Senior Grady Smith knocked down a three-pointer from beyond the arc to keep the Bearcats within striking distance.

Later in the third quarter, with Spencerville down two, Owen Sensabaugh buried a triple to give the Bearcats their first lead of the game at 30-29.

From there, Spencerville never looked back.

Will Sensabaugh added to the momentum with a pull-up three on his way to a game-high 22 points, sealing the comeback effort.

Spencerville storms back to defeat St. Henry 51-44 and will move on to face the winner of Crestview and Ayersville in the district final at Defiance High School.
