New antenna installed at Hometown Stations new transmitter site.jpg

The WLIO antenna was put into place on the top of the new tower, located on Lima's NE side. The antenna was designed by WLIO's Chief Engineer, and Donald Everest, Broadcast Consultant in Washington DC, and built by E.R.I. from Southern Indiana. The new antenna weighs 10,400 pounds and is 28" in diameter. When WLIO signs on the new site, the morning of August 5th, it will double the power output.  In the next few days, the WOHL antenna for ABC and CBS will be added to the top of the WLIO antenna.
