LEIPSIC, OH (WLIO) - An investigation is ongoing into an explosion at the POET Bioprocessing plant in Leipsic.

Around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, an explosion was reported at the plant, but no one was injured. According to POET, the incident happened in the distillation unit. First responders from area agencies were called in to help on the scene.

Once they assess the damage, they'll look at the cause of the explosion. The company says they are proud of their team's quick actions to ensure the safety of their coworkers. According to their website, the Leipsic plant processes corn and produces 90 million gallons of bioethanol annually.
