LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Snow plows are expected to be on the road throughout the day today as they battle the storm.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says that roadways will take more time to properly clear off due to high winds and low visibility. ODOT Drivers are trying their best to lay down material to clear off ice and snow but the weather is not fully cooperating.

However, ODOT says that they will continue to clear roadways and ask drivers to be patient as they battle the blizzard-like conditions.
"The high wind and the very cold temperatures are kind of is a hindrance to us getting these roads cleaned up. Fortunately, we have crews working around the shift, we are trying some products in areas where the wind isn’t blowing," said Andy Wita, ODOT Transportation Manager. "The visibility for our drivers is very difficult with the wind and the snow blowing around the truck. If you can give them time to clean up and if you can just stay home, that's probably the best suggestion on a day like today."
If you have to drive in these conditions, it is advised that you take extra time and drive carefully.
