ODOT outlines 2014 construction plans

Statewide, the Ohio Department of Transportation is investing $2.5 billion into this years 936 projects.

Work will ramp up in the coming days on the third and final phase of the I-75 reconstruction project in Allen County.  The project goes from just south of Fourth Street to the Auglaize County line.

The bridges on Breese Road, McClain Road and Hanthorn Road will be replaced and Ohio 65 at I 75 will be rebuilt.

Work on phase two of the project, from State Route 81 to Fourth Street continues.  That should wrap up by fall of 2015.  However, the contractor is trying to finish by this fall to earn financial incentives.

Officials say while closures will be a hassle, they will ensure Ohio can remain competitive economically.
