LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Highway Patrol post has reached a major milestone. The post celebrating its 90th anniversary protecting residents and enforcing traffic laws in our area. In order to celebrate the past and look ahead to the future -- the post hosted an open house at their headquarters.
Different items such as old radios, megaphones, badges, and more were on display to look at the history behind the post. And while you can go back 90 years to the post's beginnings, troopers say that their mission has not changed, protecting the public and enforcing safety laws.
"That's our goal at the end of the day," said Nicholas Boes, Ohio State Highway Patrol Lima Post Sergeant. "We preach professionalism, we want to treat people right, and our goal at the end of the day is to get people home safely. We enforce traffic laws, and our mission is safety. That's it."
