LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Ohio State Lima has recognized two distinguished alumni for their professional success and dedication to giving back.

The Annual Alumni Awards program honors two graduates each year: one who has graduated within the last 10 years, and another who graduated more than 20 years ago.

Ohio State Lima alumni honored for achievements and giving back

The 2025 Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. David Rolsten, grew up in the Lima area and was inspired by the Ohio State Lima campus to pursue higher education. Rolsten, the first in his family to attend college, credits the opportunities he received at Ohio State for helping him continue his education and ultimately become a dentist. Because of his start at Ohio State Lima, Rolsten created an endowment to provide scholarships for other first-generation students.

“Ohio State, Lima became my window to the world. In light of that, it opened doors that I never imagined existed, and I've been able to utilize Ohio State and my education through Ohio State to foster a gift that will give back for generations to come,” says Dr. David Rolsten, Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee.

Ohio State Lima also recognized Dr. Abby Vennekotter with the Early Achievement Alumni Award. She began her path to becoming a veterinarian at the Lima campus and is now serving as a small animal vet in a low-income area of North Carolina.
