Senator Rob Portman says the American public should be happy that there was no collusion found between President Trump and Russia.

But it could be a few weeks before the Attorney General releases the Mueller report to the public and Portman says it’s important for not only Congress, but the American people to see the results of the investigation. He says outside of classified information or information that is part of ongoing cases in New York and Washington D.C., people have the right to see what two years worth of work and 25 million dollars of taxpayer money yielded.

"I think it’s going to be helpful. Because a lot of the report is about the Russian interference in our election, I think people need to understand that this is real," says Republican Sen. Rob Portman. "That the Russians were coming in here, and it’s not like they were trying to play politics one side or the other, as much as they were trying to create disruption."

Portman says with 2020 presidential election just around the corner, it’s important to understand what Russia did so the United States can protect future elections.
