Let the good times bowl!
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Putnam County kicked off their Bowl for Kids Sake by hosting three separate events Saturday (3/3/18). Anyone from the community was invited to come out to Highland Lanes in Ottawa in the morning to knock down some pins. Later in the afternoon, local banks competed in the Battle of the Banks, and the day concluded with the battle of the schools. Bowl for Kids Sake is the group's largest fundraiser. It gives people an opportunity to have the kind of fun they don't get to have very day while helping out a cause they support.
"Bowling, you don't get to do very often, that's something that is kind of a dying thing ans so I think that this is fun for them," says Melissa Schroeder, program coordinator for B.B.B.S. of Putnam Co. "Bowling is something that the whole family can do together, it's something that brings you back to a simpler time."
If you missed all the action, there are spots still open for their next event, "Glow in the Dark Bowling" at Pandora Sports Center Lanes on March 10th.
