Guiding Light of Lima received some financial support from a St. Marys group.
Coins for Charity is a group that supports different nonprofit organizations and charities through collecting change and donating that money to the charity that they've chosen. The main way the group does this, is through a quarter auction held every month in St. Marys. The group chooses to support a new charity each month.
"We pick the charity, the charity has to go out and do their advertising, bring the people in, we get everyone here on that night of the week and we just have a lot of fun," said Gale Mullett, Lead with Coins for Charity. "We have a group of 12 girls and everybody has their favorite charity, and this month happened to be one of the girls' favorite charity, Guiding Light."
Coins for Charity has raised nearly $15,000 for the charities they have supported in the last year.
