LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Ruler Foods is lending support to the West Ohio Food Bank ahead of the holiday season.
On Friday afternoon, the company and its associates presented a check for $3,820 to the food bank to support its mission of ending hunger across its 11-county service area.
Since the beginning of November, Ruler Foods has been holding its Holiday Hunger Round Up Campaign at stores in Lima, Celina and Van Wert. The donations collected through the campaign will benefit the West Ohio Food Bank. In addition to financial contributions, the stores donate food through their Zero Hunger, Zero Waste Campaign.
“Ruler Foods, we feed people. We are the local grocer. We want people to be able to come in and shop, but unfortunately, sometimes people need a little extra assistance. So, our associates at Ruler, they're there. They want to give back, and this is a great way for us to be able to allow the customers to help too. We can round up at the register. We also do our food rescue program, and our associates are very committed to giving back in the communities we serve,” says Amy McCormick, Communication Manager, Ruler Foods.
The round up campaign to support the West Ohio Food Bank will continue through Jan. 3.
