As President Donald Trump continues to renew his fight to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, Ohio's Democratic Senator says he is committed to preserving it.
According to Senator Sherrod Brown, more than 200,000 Ohioans have the potential to lose their health insurance coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed.
Also, 5.5 million young adults would lose the opportunity to stay on their parent’s health insurance and hospitals may be forced to close.
This week GOP leaders presented a case to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to eliminate the act.
Senator Brown says he doesn't understand why politicians are trying so desperately to get rid of something that is so important to many Americans.
“This Affordable Care Act has worked and it breaks my heart when I see politicians who have insurance paid for by taxpayers: politicians, judges, trying to take that away from millions and millions of people,” said Brown.
Brown says he will continue to fight in Washington and Columbus to keep the affordable care act.
