HANCOCK COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Florida man and woman have been hospitalized after a morning crash in Hancock County.
Sheriff's deputies were called out to State Route 186 close to Township Road 93 around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday for a single-vehicle crash. 31-year-old John Nazaire from Lake Park, Florida, was heading south when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a fence. Nazaire and his passenger were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment. It is unknown how serious their injuries are, but both of them were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Nazaire was cited for failure to maintain control and driving without a driver's license.
February 20, 2024 Press Release from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office: On Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 at 06:20 AM the Hancock County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle injury crash on SR 186 near TR 93 in Pleasant Township.
It was learned that John P. Nazaire (31 y.o. male) of Lake Park, FL was operating a Black 2017 Kia Forte southbound on SR 186 near TR 93. Nazaire's vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a fence. John and the passenger, Wilnise Pompilus (29 y.o. female) of Lake Park, FL were both transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain control, and operating a vehicle without a driver's license.
Assisting at the scene were Hanco EMS, Liberty TWP Fire Department, and Dick's Towing.
