Spencerville High School students hold Get Moving Day

Students at Spencerville High School took a break from their normal schedule to get up and get moving!

The school hosted their 2nd Student Interaction Day, this year focusing on the health and wellness of their students.

"We wanted to do this because we thought that the health of our students is really imperative to their learning and to their outside activities, an health is just important for everybody," says Student Council President Madison Pugh. "We have some physical activities, we have some mental, we have some emotional, and we're just trying to get an overall healthy body vibe going in our school."

The high schoolers rotated through physical exercise classes like yoga, pound, and dodgeball and then they gave their brains a work out with trivia and mental games. The student council wanted to focus on the whole health of their peers so that they can get a better understanding of what they need to do to stay healthy.

"You're learning more about yourself, your personality, and then what you could do to better yourself for health," says sophomore Nelaya Burden. "It's just all around a good thing for us to know, so it's just fun to kind of get out of class and do something that we haven't really done before."

The day-long event was sponsored by the Spencerville VFW and featured two Spencerville grads hosting sessions.
