ST. MARYS, OH (WLIO) - The St. Marys Theater and Grand Opera House is preparing for an entertainment-packed weekend.

The theater is celebrating the start of summer with three straight shows from Friday, June 7th, through Sunday, June 9th. The weekend kicks off with a video adaptation of "Long Journey Home," a play previously performed at The Grand that tells the true story of a young St. Marys man who fought in the Civil War. On Saturday, country musician Glen Templeton takes the stage, with the talented 19-year-old Tagen Patterson, a St. Marys native, as the opening act. Closing out on Sunday is the Fort Wayne Old Crown Brass band with traditional British music.

"They're going to put on a 3 p.m. performance, and we're really looking forward to their display of music capabilities. So you're getting a little bit of Civil War history, you're getting country music, and finishing off with the Fort Wayne Old Crown Brass Band. A lot happening in downtown St. Marys at the Grand," said Doug Spencer, the project coordinator with Friends of the St. Marys Theater.
