LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A Lima man allegedly refused to leave his home when Allen County Sheriff deputies tried to execute a protection order.

26-year-old John Peterson III walked out of 807 Crestwood Drive after a two-hour negotiation with the sheriff's department after he barricaded himself inside the home. Deputies were trying to execute a court-ordered protection order when Peterson closed the door and refused to come out.

"It remained peaceful throughout. He made a few questionable statements to negotiators, but he backed away from those, thankfully. It ended the best way that you can ask a situation like this to end," commented Major Andre McConnahea, Allen County Sheriff's Office.
Peterson was taken into custody and arrested on one count of obstruction of official business, which is a felony of the 5th degree.
