LIMA, OH (WLIO) - State officials are investigating reports that not everyone received that Amber Alert earlier this week.
The alert was initially issued in Franklin and surrounding counties, but it was discovered that only some cell phones had received the emergency message. Shortly after, when the suspect, Pammy Maye, was spotted on a surveillance camera near Cleveland. Authorities asked for a second alert to be sent out by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which had no issues.
Officials are investigating all stages of the alert process to see where the error occurred, from their own systems to cell phone carriers' services. They recommend checking your settings to see if your alerts are turned on, though some who had the proper settings did not receive the alert.
