OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) — A crowd of happy festival-goers gathered in Ottawa on Sunday to enjoy good food and good company at the annual fall festival.
The event, hosted by Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, served around 1,500 chicken and roast beef dinners, available to eat on site or take home. The fall festival is the parish’s largest fundraiser, and volunteers spent several days preparing for the event that locals look forward to on the first Sunday in November for fun and fellowship.
“We're big into this sense of community, we want to have, well, Jesus wants us to be a strong community, right. Strong families, strong communities, strong parishes and things like this. Just help encourage that. And I love to see the kids, they enjoy it, and everybody's got a good meal and a good time, and we come together, just like the Lord wanted,” said Fr. Scott Kramer of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to the meal, the festival featured basket raffles, a country store with homemade crafts and baked goods, and a game room where kids could win prizes.
