Three Lima men in custody after reports of gunshots

Three Lima men are in custody after reports of shots being fired in a residential area on the south side of Lima.

According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies heard gunshots on South Union Street near 4th Street. When they got to that area, a car was leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The deputies stopped the vehicle and found a gun in the car. 22-year-old Darius Relford, 22-year-old Trey Ackles, and 21-year-old Blake Patterson were arrested. All were charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, Relford is also facing a charge of suspicion of improper discharge of a firearm into a habitation.

The case is a joint investigation between the sheriff's office and the Lima Police Department.
