BOTKINS, Ohio (WLIO) – Spontaneous combustion is the suspected cause of a two-alarm fire at a Botkins business Sunday night.

The Botkins fire chief said the fire at Boomerang Rubber was ruled accidental after a plastic tote containing rubber spontaneously combusted.

The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene Monday morning to investigate. The Ohio EPA was also in Botkins and determined that water runoff from the fire into Loramie Creek was not contaminated.
