Urinator leaves two Putnam residents in hot water

Two Putnam County residents try and beat their court appointed drug test and land themselves in hot water.

23 year old Douglas Calvelage and 21 year old Ashley Dunbar were ordered to under go drug screenings after being convicted of trafficking in drugs and attempted trafficking in drugs respectively. However when both came in for a recent drug test, the probation officer noticed Calvelage was acting different, the officer gave him a closer look and they found a device on him, called a urinator. The device had synthetic urine in it and attaches to a person's underwear. It includes a heater to keep the synthetic urine at body temperature. Dunbar, who came in to have a drug test with Calvelage, was searched and found a squeeze bottle also with synthetic urine. Both of their probation was revoked and the two were ordered back to jail.

Sheriff Jim Beutler warns people about using the devices like this and buying synthetic urine because it could cost them their job or like Calvelage and Dunbar a trip back to jail. Calvelage say he bought the device in Lima for 50 bucks, but Sheriff Beutler says there are many places that sell devices like it on the internet.
