Van Wert mayor signs proclamation to stand against racism

The YWCA in Van Wert is taking a stand against racism.

During this week they are holding events to stand up to racism, which prompted a visit from Van Wert Mayor Jerry Mazur. He appeared at the YWCA to sign a proclamation stating this weekend from April 26th to the 29th will be declared as YWCA Stand Against Racism Weekend. Mazur said this issue is as prevalent as ever. He said this proclamation signifies the support the city is willing to provide in the face of racism. The YWCA is sending a clear message this week they want to eliminate this social issue.

On Thursday, the YWCA will hold a community stand for people to stand in solidarity against racism.
