OTTAWA, OH (WLIO) - The mayor of Ottawa made his annual address on Tuesday, looking back at the past year and discussing some plans down the pipeline for the village.
Mayor Dean Meyer spoke at the reorganizational meeting, talking about some of the projects that Ottawa tackled in 2023. One of those projects was the $9 million water plant update. Thanks to several grants, the village was able to update 50-year-old infrastructure and remain EPA compliant.
Now in 2024, Ottawa has their sights set on even further forward as they continue to develop the village's strategic growth plan:
"The village, along with the GO Ottawa team, are going to work towards our strategic plan that we've spent money on, and it's really good - we've asked residents for their input and we're moving forward to continuing that plan," said Ottawa Mayor Dean Meyer.
The Strategic Growth Plan will help create a new identity for the village and bring in development projects over the next five to ten years. You can read more about the plan here.
