West Ohio Food Bank announces changes to pick up times for Senior Box program

The boxes can contain canned vegetables, powdered potatoes, beef stew, noodles, milk, cereal, cheese, and more.

The pick-up day for seniors to get their box of food remains the 3rd Tuesday of the month but will now be only an hour long. The commodities can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. starting in November. The boxes can contain canned vegetables, powdered potatoes, beef stew, noodles, milk, cereal, cheese, and more. The program is critical for hundreds of seniors in the region.

"We have 1,500 individuals who receive this box throughout our 11-county service area. They rely on this each month, and we just want to make sure that we continue to provide it to them," said Tommie Horner, CEO of West Ohio Food Bank.
