LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Empower, uplift and inspire is the mission of the YWCA of Northwest Ohio, and on Friday the agency took time to recognize the child care providers serving families across its eight-county region.
The organization’s Child Care Resource and Referral Division supports 140 child care centers and family child care programs throughout northwest Ohio. During Friday’s event, providers were thanked for their work and received two items to use in their learning centers.
The agency also offers educational resources for families, teachers and administrators through a lending library that includes books, games and other learning materials.
“Our agency is open to the public. So community members and families can come. We have a resource library, we have learning materials that families can check out, teachers can check out, and child care administrators. We do a lot of different community service programs in the area,” said Lisa Wackler YWCA Early Childhood Education Coordinator.
Officials say families and community members can contact the YWCA to learn more about the programs and services available throughout the region.
