Activate Allen County and community volunteers planted Lima's first urban orchard at the Jackson Street Garden to increase access to fresh fruit in a neighborhood considered a food desert. The project was funded through an Allen Lima Leadership grant, with additional support from the Lima Cenovus Refinery's We Care Program.
Six Lima firefighters have earned full rank after completing a year long probationary training program with the Lima Fire Department. The firefighters were recognized with helmet shields and badges during a ceremony as the department continues to maintain a staff of 75 firefighters.
