Activate Allen County and Mercy Health want to make sure that families are on the path to having a healthy holiday. The Heathy Families Expo was full of activities for the kids and information about area resources for adults. The young people could enjoy the bounce house, or get a balloon sculptures, and get their face painting. Adults could visit one of dozens of booths to learn about local programs to help promote a healthy mind, body, spirit. Stedic Music helped keep the crowd entertained throughout the afternoon. Plus, with the help of Santa and one of his reindeer, the Expo shows that the holidays could be more than just merry and bright.

The Ohio Presidents Surprising Legacies Exhibition will make its public viewing debut tomorrow at the Allen County Museum. The exhibition will run tomorrow through October 30. Earlier today, a member sneak peek reception took place from 5 PM to 7 PM ahead of tomorrow's scheduled opening. For the big debut, the Ohio Presidential Exhibit will feature guest curator Dr. Christine Fowler Shearer who shared with us on what visitors can expect to see tomorrow.
Lima Senior students showing off their art skills at their annual Visual Energy art exhibit Tuesday evening. Art from freshman, sophomore, and junior students was on display at the Allen County Museum as part of the opening reception for the exhibit.
Optimist member Cindy Nelson explains, “There really is. Actually, new this year we’ve got some different performances. On Friday night the library is going to be out doing a story time. We’re going to be able to be finger printing of the kids and especially this year on Saturday night at 5 o’clock the Lima Area Youth Orchestra is going to be out there performing. So, bring the family and come out for a great night and just real support these kids.”
The show drew in photographs from people all around the region and while the opening celebration was canceled due to concerns of the COVID-19 virus, the exhibit is open. More than 100 photos are on display in 3 studios at ArtSpace. Executive Director Sally Windle says the show is always popular.
