Commissioners approved a lease with H.G. Violet for several ATVs and UTVs for Monday's eclipse. The vehicles will be used by emergency management in case an emergency response is needed. The vehicles would be able to maneuver through high-traffic areas easier than larger equipment. Commissioners say that the county is ready for Monday's eclipse.

Troopers say the incident happened just after 9:30 pm on Road 19, just south of Road L. 31-year-old Zachary Cassidy was driving an ATV when he went off the left side of the road. He then overcorrected and drove off the right side, hitting a utility pole, ejecting him from the ATV. Cassidy was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing safety restraints, and believe alcohol was a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation.
Mercer County Sheriff, Jeff Grey reports that his office received a 911 call at 7:38 PM on Monday, June 1st, 2020. The caller reported an ATV crash that had occurred on in a field. The incident took place in Recovery Township west of State Route 49 and south of Park Road.
