A St. Marys Arby's makes a generous donation to give back to those who protect and serve.
Arby's owner Scott Moell says in honor of their 20th year in St. Marys he asked the local police and firemen what kind of equipment or support he could offer them.
The departments' requested an all terrain vehicle they could use for special events, rural areas, and patient transport.
Arby's said donating the vehicle is their way of supporting their first responders. "I met with the police chief and the fire chief and said, hey guys, is there anything that you've always wanted that you couldn't get on a budget, couldn't get the funding for, and their eyes lit up and said yes, as a matter of fact an ATV," said Arby's owner, Scott Moell, "It sounded like a great idea to us so back there, that's what we got them, and it's just our way of saying thank you."
"With having this donation this is something that we have now that we probably wouldn't have gotten for quite a few years," said Doug Ayers, St. Marys Fire Chief.
They say including the vehicle, the additions, and the signage, the ATV is estimated around $21,000.
