This opportunity is such a great way to make sure that those that don’t have a place to go or those that are on duty during this day Thanksgiving have a meal to say we are there for you and we care about you. The Tribesgiving is for all Veterans, First Responders, and Law Enforcement, it will be on November 24th, 2022, at Camp Berry in Donnell Lodge Dining Hall.

On Wednesday, October 19, the Black Swamp Area Council, Boy Scouts of America broke ground on Yammine Lodge at Camp Berry. This new training Lodge will replace the former camp office and conference room as well as the camp’s health center. The lodge will serve as a welcome center for campers and participants attending events and programs at Camp Berry.

The Black Swamp Area Council for the Boy Scouts will soon be holding the annual scouting for food campaign. Starting March 6th, scouts will be delivering door tags asking residents to consider donating canned goods for their local food pantry.

The pandemic has affected everyone in one way or another, and non-profit and youth organizations are feeling the pressure as may fundraising efforts were put on hold because of COVID-19. One of these is the Lima Symphony Orchestra, who have not been able to perform since March. Now with the governor imposing a 15% capacity rate for live music - meaning that concerts would only have around 250 people at the Civic Center - the symphony is relying on community support as they move forward.

The Exploring Program is connecting students and business professional to create a unique experience that helps build character and possibly a path to a future career. Thursday the black swamp area council exploring program took time to honor businesses and individuals who make their program such a success.
