Bradley Pepple was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury for failing to stop after an accident, driving under suspension, and three other misdemeanors. He was not indicted on any manslaughter charges. OSHP believes Pepple hit and killed 18-year old Chance Edwards with his pick-up truck on Aug. 28. A witness says they saw Edwards and a man arguing on North Dixie Highway. She walked off into the road and that’s when she was hit. Pepple turned himself into the police two weeks later.
Bradley Pepple was indicted by the Allen Grand Jury back in October of 2020 on a felony charge including failure to stop after an accident (felony 2) and misdemeanor charges such as Driving under Suspension, Driving under financial responsibility law suspension or cancellation, operating a motor vehicle or motorcycle without a valid license, and failure to reinstate a license.
18-year-old Jervon Fernandez-Wesley has been indicted on four counts: aggravated arson, aggravated murder, and two counts of murder. If found guilty he is looking at life in prison. Police have named Fernandez-Wesley in the fatal fire that killed his 14-year-old brother Michael Gillyard. Police say on Aug. 14, Fernandez-Wesley was kicked out of his family’s home at 124 W. Circular St. He returned in the early morning of Aug. 15 and allegedly started fires in the neighboring duplex. Five of his other family members got out. He told police he was angry at all of them for how they treated him.
Bradley Pepple appeared in Lima Municipal Court and waived his preliminary hearing. That means Pepple's case moves over to common pleas court to be considered by a grand jury. He's charged with failing to stop after a crash. It was Aug. 25, Chance Edwards was struck and killed by a pick up truck on North Dixie Highway and that driver drove off. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it was Pepple who was driving that truck. Pepple was also driving without a license after multiple suspensions. His bond remains at $150,000.
