The Lima Police Department says they are seeing vehicle break-ins increase throughout the city, but they are recently noticing increased activity on the west side of town. Areas such as Cable Road, Elijah Parkway, Tall Oaks, and Gloria Avenue are among those areas. The department says you can expect to see an increase in overnight patrols in these problem areas, but Lima residents need to do their part in preventing these crimes.

Starting at 9 p.m. Wednesday on their Facebook page, they will post a reminder for residents: “9 o’clock: Don’t forget to Lock” for the next week. The message is to remind people to lock their vehicle and remove anything valuable. The Lima Police Department says they have seen an unusually high number of break-ins and are encouraging people to take precautions to protect themselves.

A Lima man is recovering from injuries he got during a home break-in on Sunday night. The Lima Police Department is investigating a break-in and robbery on Franklin Street, which occurred just before midnight. Two masked men armed with a gun knocked on the front door. When the resident answered, they forced their way in and pistol whipped him.

Local law enforcement needs your help locating two suspects who broke into the Lima Cloud Five Vape store this past weekend. On Saturday, officers found the front door of the store on N. Metcalf Street shattered. Security footage shows two people entering the store and taking several items. Both suspects had their faces and hands covered during the break-in.

The Ottawa Police Department is investigating a break-in at a pharmacy early Monday morning. According to the police department, an alarm sounded at Tucker's Pharmacy around 1:15 a.m. Officers arrived to find the back door to the business open. After walking around inside, police say they found evidence of a breaking and entering. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations was called in to process the scene. No word yet on what, if anything, was taken.
