The intersection at Central Avenue and Elm Street will be closed Wednesday, April 30, as Phase 2 of construction continues.
Drainage work has been installed in the six major intersections included in the project, and crews have now shifted focus to the south end. Work is currently underway to prepare the roadbed between Elm and Market streets. Curb installation and asphalt paving will follow. Sidewalk construction is also in progress.

On Monday, March 17th, the intersection of Wayne Street and Central Avenue will be closed through March 20th.
The city of Lima will close two intersections to through traffic March 10th through March 19th as part of the second phase of the Downtown Streetscape project.
Construction season will be starting early in downtown Lima as phase two of the streetscape improvement project is set to begin. Truck detour signs will be going up in early February for Central Avenue between Elm Street and Wayne Street. The contractor will begin installing the new storm sewer during the winter, and in the spring work on new sidewalks, street lighting, crosswalks, and more will begin.
