LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — As construction continues on the streetscape in downtown Lima’s Central District, local businesses are thriving alongside the improvements.

Sidewalks, curbs, blacktop and more are progressing along Central Avenue, and the business scene is growing just as steadily. The Central District building is now at full capacity, with 11 tenants occupying all three floors. Each business is carving out its niche, offering new and unique opportunities for customers. One standout is Modish Maven Boutique, which is bringing something fresh to the area — a “runway-style” fashion showcase featuring local designers.

“We get at least one new person in daily who says, ‘Oh, we didn’t know this was all here,’” said Tonya Gendreau, owner of Modish Maven. “It’s really exciting sharing what’s going on at the Central District. We just hope people who haven’t been out yet will come and take a look. It’s filled with many unique businesses, and we all complement one another really well. It’s a neat, neat place.”

Modish Maven will host the fashion show on Thursday, June 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Central District building. Tickets are available for purchase on the boutique’s website for an evening of food, fun, and fashion.
