The event was held outside the Putnam County Council on Aging and allowed members of the community to come and dispose of unwanted documents that contain private information. Organizers for the event say that it is very important to dispose of unwanted private documents by shredding them. Shredding allows the documents to be no longer usable by scammers or anyone who would target the community. 

The Allen County Council on Aging provides transportation to a portion of those seniors who do not have the means to travel. The agency also states that the transportation program allows workers to ensure that residents get a chance for in-person interaction. Seniors who are in need of transportation to a COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment can still call the Allen County Council on Aging to schedule a pick-up by calling 419-228-5135.

The garage sale for the Council on Aging is a year-long effort to not only help with their own organization but also others in the community. 

The Allen County Council on Aging is teaming up with the Lowe’s Hero Program and the Area Agency on Aging 3 to build a new outdoor space for seniors.

Every year, Lowe’s stores across the country chose a project that will benefit the community. 

Monday, the public got the opportunity to check out the new Allen County Council on Aging Building. The Council on Aging got moved into their new home in the 700 block of Main Street in December. People got the chance to check out the fully operating center and talk to employees, explore the facility, enjoy refreshments and observe the baby chick incubator.

The Putnam County Council on Aging has been celebrating older Americans for more than 40 years.
