Doctors recommend explaining to your child that there's never a reason an adult would need a child's help finding something. It's also a good idea to go over some scenarios where a bad person might ask them for help. For example, they might say they lost their puppy and need help finding it. Or they may try to entice them with treats or even electronics. Doctors say it's also important to teach your kids who the "good people" are like police officers, firefighters, and teachers.

It may sound like common sense, but every year multiple deaths are reported. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there have been nearly one thousand deaths because of kids being left in hot cars. And parents may not think about how even mild temperatures could be a concern. Even on a 70-degree day, the inside of a car can reach more than 115 degrees.

A mock crash demonstration was set up to show students the aftermath of a dangerous crash where students were not paying attention and were driving impaired. The demonstration included outcomes such as arrest and legal proceedings, life flight, jaws of life, severe injuries, and even death.
