As Americans take to the roadways this holiday season, thousands of traffic injuries and fatalities are predicted. Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, law enforcement will be out in full force all over the state to enforce Ohio’s impaired driving laws, as well as to make sure everyone drives safe and buckles up.
CHOOSE to drive sober this holiday season. To prevent fatal as well as serious injury crashes this holiday season, law enforcement agencies in Allen County will be out in full force. Starting December 16th through the new year, federal, state, and local law enforcement will be working overtime to enforce impaired driving laws. On average, more than 10,000 people are killed each year in drunk-driving crashes. Of these 10,000 deaths, many occur during the holiday season. A time of joy, light, and togetherness will come a time of mourning. These deaths ARE preventable.
As people gather for Super Bowl parties on Sunday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol urges fans to refrain from driving impaired. If you plan on consuming alcohol, don’t drive and plan ahead to designate a sober driver.
