August 8, 2024, Press Release from the Lima/Allen County Regional Planning Commission: LIMA—In an effort to bring awareness and advocacy for driving sober, the Allen County Safe Community Coalition is hosting a time for area residents, first-responders and local officials to join in partnership as they kick off the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign in Allen County, which correlates with the national campaign. On Friday, Aug. 9 at 8:00 a.m. at the A.C.C.E.S.S. Center – 528 W. Market St., Allen County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge Todd E. Kohlrieser will address the public by discussing the importance of being sober behind the wheel; how alcohol, street drugs, and even prescription drugs can cause impaired driving; the amount it takes for someone to be considered over the limit to operate a vehicle; and the lasting consequences that can come from making poor choices when operating a vehicle under the influence.
August 23, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Findlay - The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Findlay Police Department, the University of Findlay Police Department, and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, announced today an OVI checkpoint will be held from 8P.M. to 12A.M. tonight, on Main Street, in the City of Findlay, Hancock County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be highly visible and cracking down on impaired drivers during the Fourth of July holiday reporting period, which begins at midnight on Thursday, July 3 and will run through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 6.
